‘B/c I worked at Fox’: Young conservative twice rejected from renting D.C. apartment over political affiliation

A prominent young conservative commentator whose work has been featured at Red Alert Politics, The Daily Wire and the Independent Journal Review, and who once worked at Fox News, was denied an apartment in Washington, D.C., this week because of her political leanings.

“[M]y second time this week being rejected from an apartment/house in dc bc i worked at fox,” commentator Pardes Seleh revealed in a tweet Thursday morning.

Attached to the tweet was a screenshot of an email reply she received earlier in the morning as per a request she’d made to rent a room at an apartment somewhere in D.C.

“Thank you for your interest Pardes,” the email reads. “After perusing your various journalistic and social media posts, it’s pretty clear your politics views are diametrically opposed to ours (and we hate Fox). Hopefully you will find a place where that will be a good fit.”

Look:

In a follow-up video posted to her Twitter feed, Pardes explained that she had started looking for an apartment in D.C. a day earlier to “downsize” and save on rent. What she hadn’t counted on was receiving such an unwelcome response from the locals.

Pardes didn’t think this was a legal issue, because she believed the rejections weren’t coming from the landlords, but from potential roommates.

“I don’t think any of my views I put out online are very controversial. In fact, I’m not even a hardcore right-winger. I wouldn’t describe myself as that,” she said.

Most conservatives likely feel the same way about politics.

“I respect people who are very passionate about their views, but I’ve never been a very passionate person when it came to politics. …. But I’m still being treated as a Nazi,” she added.

“Not by everybody. I’ve got some nice liberal friends. … But in general, because I live in D.C., which is a very blue district, I really feel oftentimes like I’m treated like a Nazi.”

Listen:

Ever since the election of President Donald Trump to the White House two years ago, the country has been awash into virulent anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-conservative hatred.

Though the roots of this hatred remain unknown, a growing number of Americans believe the media bear at least some responsibility for stirring the pot and ginning up even more animosity.

The media have smeared the Trump administration with lies, smeared Trump supporters as bigots and racists, mocked “working class whites” and white-washed the genuinely hateful behavior and rhetoric of actual bigots and racists, including those who themselves work in the media.

Coinciding with this increasingly inflammatory rhetoric has been an upsurge in discrimination against and actual physical attacks on anyone even remotely linked to conservatism.

In one case a far-left activist who supports Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was attacked by fellow far-left activists for the apparent crime of simply waving an American flag.

“I’m not a person with a political agenda. I’m really just a 25-year-old trying to make it in D.C., trying to do good at what I do, maybe have some fun, make friends,” Seleh’s video message continued.

“I’m not a person with a big agenda, but because of my political views or the places I’ve worked at … I’m just always being treated like a right-wing Nazi.”

She’s not alone.

Watch the rest of her video below:

Even the most hardcore Trump supporters still live normal lives like everybody else. They go to work, they buy groceries, they exercise, they go see the movies, etc. And in the vast majority of cases, they never allow their political ideology to interfere in their relationships.

The cannot be said of liberals, and research proves it:

“The nonpartisan Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI ) found 24 percent of Democrats distanced themselves from people on social media because of political postings. Nine percent of both Republicans and independents reported doing the same to those in social media circles.”

That’s a big difference, not that conservatives like Miss Seleh intend to allow this disturbing trend among Democrats of treating others differently prevent her from living her best life.

“I don’t want to be a victim. … I’m just telling you the truth of how I feel living in Washington, D.C. And when I step out of D.C., the contrast is so big,” she said.

She added that in Florida, where at the moment she’s currently vacationing, people seem far more tolerant and relaxed — and far less obsessed with political disagreements.

FYI, Florida just elected a Republican governor and senator into office. Over in D.C., on the other hand, not a single Republican won anything, including the mayorship.

Coincidence? Probably not …
