Fox News speaks out about Tucker boycott battle: ‘We cannot and will not allow ‘it

With Fox News serving as the only real counter to the liberal media, the network is often targeted by the left, who would like nothing more than to shut down opposing views — and Fox News appears to be growing tired of it.

A trending tactic in the endeavor to rid the country of “fair and balanced” reporting is to pressure Fox News advertisers, as seen this week with calls for an advertiser boycott of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” over an opinion host Tucker Carlson expressed about immigration.

With a number of short-sighted companies pulling out, Fox News issued a statement ripping the intolerance of the “far left activist groups” behind the effort, this coming on the heels of activists terrorizing Carlson’s wife at their home.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

“We cannot and will not allow voices like Tucker Carlson to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts from the likes of Moveon.org, Media Matters and Sleeping Giants,” the network said in the statement.

“Attempts were made last month to bully and terrorize Tucker and his family at their home,” the release continued. “He is now once again being threatened via Twitter by far-left activist groups with deeply political motives.

“While we do not advocate boycotts, these same groups never target other broadcasters and operate under a grossly hypocritical double standard given their intolerance to all opposing points of view.”

Carlson was talking about the economics of immigration on his show last week.

“We have a moral obligation to admit the world’s poor, they tell us, even if it makes our own country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided,” he said. “Immigration is a form of atonement. Previous leaders of our country committed sins; we must pay for those sins by welcoming an endless chain of migrant caravans. That’s the argument they make.”

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

The left, who manipulate our immigration laws to artificially alter voter demographics in America, predictably reacted with manufactured outrage, making the same tired claims of racism and throwing around the term “white nationalists.”

Carlson would later address his comment on Twitter, noting that he was referencing a story he did where a delegate from Tijuana, Mexico, appeared to discuss the chaos brought upon his city by the far-left backed migrant caravan.

Genaro Lopez, a delegate for Tijuana, told Carlson his city is beset with problems from the migrant caravan that’s hunkering down there.

“At first, it was for drug possession and being drunk in the street,” Lopez said. “Now it’s for breaking and entering into homes.”

Yet, some advertisers were easily misled by the far left activist groups.

Insurance company Pacific Life was the first company to pull its advertising, with a number of other companies reportedly pulling their slots as well.

And there may be more.

“IHOP, the United Explorer credit card, Just For Men, Jaguar Land Rover, Ancestry.com, and Voya Financial are among some of the corporations who have said they will stop advertising with Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the Washington Examiner reported.

Perhaps its time for conservative Americans to flex their own economic muscle with a boycott of companies who so easily bend to the will of left-wing extremists, selling out in support of censorship over free speech.
