HuffPo tries to gin up outrage over ‘Rudolph the Marginalized Reindeer,’ stirs up a whole lot of backlash instead

When the backlash to your tweet far outnumbers the “likes” and “retweets” … you know you’ve been what’s called, “ratioed.”

One of the Internet’s most radically left-wing websites, HuffPost, has a problem with the holiday TV classic, “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Surprised? Of course you’re not.

In a video shared Wednesday to Twitter titled “Rudolph, The Marginalized Reindeer,” the far-left outlet complained about the TV classic’s “problematic” racism, homophobia and exploitation.

It performed this insane feat — insane because it takes an incredible amount of mental derangement to see racism in this innocent classic — by highlighting tweets from various Twitter users upset over the 54-year-old cartoon’s alleged bigotry and insensitivity.

Watch the video below:

The video begins with a scene from the cartoon in which other reindeer bully Rudolph by calling him names such as “fire snout,” “rainbow puss” and “red schnoz.”

A caption then announces that while the cartoon “is a holiday classic that returns to TV each holiday season … viewers are noticing the tale may not be so jolly after all and they’re sharing their observations online.”

These observations include claims that the TV classic “is a parable on racism & homophobia,” Santa Clause is “a bigoted exploitative prick” and Clause’s operation is “in serious need of diversity and inclusion training.”

More observations may be seen below:

“Former fans are pointing out Rudolph’s father verbally abuses him,” the captions continue. “Santa berates Donner for his son’s nose. The school coach encourages bullying. Donner forbids his wife from joining the search for their son. Clarice’s Dad is a bigot. Even the elf is an outcast for wanting to be a dentist.”

While these are all technically valid observations, they miss the point, according to political commentator Hank Berrien of The Daily Wire: “[I]n the end, Rudolph is redeemed, the guilty parties apologize, and there’s a happy ending.”

During the course of the cartoon movie Rudolph transforms from a bullied victim to an empowered victor. In other words, the classic is about empowerment, not victimhood, as also noted by thousands on social media. The number of comments (mostly criticisms) were well over 4,000 compared to the measly 397 retweets it received by Thursday morning.

Some of the backlash can be seen below:

Liberals, including those at HuffPo, clearly view things differently. And because of this inability to grasp the point, the site is now facing its own bullying and mockery.

Look:

But the question remains: Can HuffPo overcome its own bullying? Theoretically, yes, but it’d require that the outlet’s radically far-left writers grow a spine and stop being such easily offended social justice warriors. And frankly, the chances of that ever happening seem awfully low.
