Cut from the same mold as President Donald Trump in that he doesn’t mince his words, former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino blasted Democrat Chris Hahn for calling the president “an evil genius.” Things got more heated when Hahn flat-out lied about Trump’s attitude toward America’s protectors.
Appearing as panelists on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” Hahn was busy regurgitating the prescribed liberal narrative that the invading migrant caravan now marching on the southern border is no threat to the U.S. and is being used to gin up the GOP base ahead of Tuesday’s election.
Hahn would not even concede that the migrants have no constitutional right to be here.
“I don’t know,” he said when pressed by host Jeanine Pirro. “And I don’t think they do. I think they have a right to seek asylum which is what they plan on doing when they get here.”
He went on to say that the focus on the caravan(s) is a “political stunt” and that the president “chose to scare his base to get them motivated.”
“I can’t believe Chris just said that on a national cable news program,” Bongino said when given a chance to weigh in. “Did he really just suggest that he’s unsure if they have a constitutional right to be here?”
“This is the modern liberal,” he added. “You ask them a basic simple question that seriously, my daughter in first grade can answer for you. I’m not even kidding. Do foreign nationals have a constitutional right at any point to enter the United States when they choose and how they choose it, and he’s unsure of the answer?
To support his claim that the focus on the caravan is an election ploy, Hahn pointed to the possibility that Trump may visit the troops amassing at the southern border, smearing him in the process.
“The president will go visit the troops at the border unlike the troops in Afghanistan which he has never had the courage to visit,” the Democrat said.
“This is not an invasion. This happens all the time,” he added. “It’s ginned up to get the base motivated. And by the way, it might be working politically. The president may be an evil genius.”
And that set Bongino off.
“Chris, listen, man, that’s just gross. What’s going on with you lately, you’re like losing your mind.”
“Why would you suggest the president of the United States — whatever personal gripes you have with him, people can see this, we’re not on a private internet chat room here, people can see this and this is dumb stuff — why would you suggest the president of the United States doesn’t like the troops?”
“I have still got friends in the secret Service who actually know the president,” Bongino said, offering the information hesitantly, before admonishing Hahn for trying to talk over him.
“You are not going to talk over me. I don’t play that game,” he said. “I have people I know friend who actually work with this president. They don’t share classified info but they told me multiple times how much he adores — not likes, but adores — our cops, firemen and military.
“So you saying that like it’s some political stunt and that he doesn’t have the guts to visit them,” Bongino concluded. “You should retract that and save face now. You have humiliated yourself.”
