If it’s true that racists perceive everything in terms of race, then the appalling remarks radical leftist Joy Behar issued Friday on “The View” suggest she’s indeed a racist.
According to her, the only reason Republicans in Congress — and the millions upon millions of Americans who voted them and President Donald Trump into office — want Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh confirmed immediately is to retain “white power.”
Listen:
“The people on the Republican side — it looks like to me — do not want to investigate this any further,” she said Friday, referencing the dubious allegations of sexual assault lodged against Kavanaugh. “They just want to hold onto their power. They know that this country is getting darker. White Europeans are now 61 percent of the population.”
It’s unclear what role race plays in any of this, particularly in light of recent polling. A Rasmussen Reports poll released Tuesday found that a 56 percent majority of all likely voters “believe that every person the president nominates to serve as a judge or in a government position should receive an up or down vote on the floor of the Senate.”
A HuffPost/YouGov conducted roughly a week ago likewise found that support for Kavanaugh’s confirmation exists among all racial groups, including whites (38 percent), blacks (11 percent), Hispanics (18 percent) and others (22 percent).
“It’s almost like they’re worried that all white people are going to lose all their power, so they don’t care if she’s lying or she’s not lying, or he’s lying,” Behar added. “They just want to hold onto their power. Pretty soon we’ll be like South Africa, apartheid, where 10 percent of white people were running the country. It seems like that’s the trajectory that we’re on.”
“That may be the trajectory we’re on but that’s not what we’re going,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg then chimed in.
“We hope not, but this is what they want,” Behar continued. “The people who are only interested in retaining white power in this country.”
Conservatives have argued that an additional investigation by other parties like the FBI is unnecessary because of a lack of evidence and an abundance of contradictions from Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford. But such facts mattered neither to Behar nor her co-hosts, including actress America Ferrera.
Listen:
“I saw a committee of white men be angry, and I wanted to say to them I take your anger and I raise you millions of women and decent men in this country who are also angry and furious,” Ferrera said.
“I keep saying this and people say it sounds incredibly dramatic but doesn’t this feel like the prequel to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale?'” she added slightly later. “It didn’t happen in the dark. It didn’t happen in a basement. It happened in plain sight for all of us to see. They will make everything legal. They will take away our rights. They’ll actually take away the importance of our vote so we better start using it before we don’t have it.”
Conservatives find it difficult to understand such rhetoric since it’s the left that constantly pines to rob Americans of their rights, be it their religious liberty rights, their free speech rights, their Second Amendment rights and more.
The reaction on Twitter to both Behar and Ferrera’s insane rhetoric was one of disgust and exasperation.
Look:
Being an old white guy, I find her comments to be the most racist thing I’ve ever heard. I don’t care what the color of our elected officials skin is, I care more for what they do for our country. I see colour but I see their deeds shining brighter. I don’t judge color!

This modern, fashionable, celebrity driven hatred of white people has disturbing similarities to the first rumblings of antisemitism in Nazi Germany of the early 1930’s.

What color power are you retaining, Joy? We’re all so weak minded, leaderless, incapability of making independent informed decisions, so we think white? You want us all to think like Joy? If I thought like Joy, I would have no Joy left in my life.

@AmericaFerrera no one is taking away anything from you, then again you are a racist so I expect nothing from Liberals like you. Which is too bad, cause I liked @NBCSuperstore but now will no longer watch it since you don’t like white people!
