A boycott against In-N-Out Burger launched this week by enraged liberals hit a snafu when an Alabama state senator decided to invite the currently beleaguered hamburger chain to his state.
“Hey #InNOutBurger c’mon to Alabama! We love burgers, and we love #Republicans!” Alabama state Sen. Phil Williams wrote in a tweet Thursday that wound up triggering a slew of similar requests.
It’s ironic because the boycott was supposed to have deterred people away from In-N-Out, not inspired them to invite the chain to their own states.

Leftists launched the boycott after word broke that the chain had donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party. Never mind that the chain had also previously donated to Democrats as well.
“In 2018, In-N-Out Burger has made equal contributions to both Democratic and Republican Political Action Committees in the State of California,” executive vice president Arnie Wensinger said in a statement Thursday, adding that the donations weren’t about party affiliation but “policies that strengthen California” and help the company provide “strong pay and great benefits.”
“We have been fortunate to do business in this great state for almost 70 years,” the statement continued. “While it is unfortunate that our contributions to support both political parties in California has caused concern with some groups, we believe that bipartisan support is a fair and consistent approach that best serves the interests of our company and all of our Customers.”

In-N-Out currently maintains franchise locations primarily in California, though a few restaurants can also be found in Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Texas. Business Insider noted in a report last year that expansion has been slow partly because the chain refuses to go the franchising route.
“The only reason we would do that is for the money, and I wouldn’t do it,” it quoted In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder as having said. “My heart is totally connected to this company because of my family, and the fact that they are not here — I have a strong tie to keep this the way they would want it.”
Fair enough, though just to be clear, chances are the chain is about to be awash in money anyway, as noted Thursday by conservative commentator Don Bongino.
“I promise you, In-N-Out Burger, you will probably have your best quarter ever because leftist boycotts almost always turn into conservative buycotts,” he said during an appearance on NRATV.
