Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors, according to ABC News.
Cohen has been under investigation in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York for bank fraud stemming from his family’s taxi medallion business. The New York Times reported on Sunday that investigators were looking into $20 million in bank loans given to companies controlled by Cohen and his family.
The 52-year-old lawyer is also being investigated over payments he made to women who claimed to have had affairs with President Donald Trump. FBI agents raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room on April 7.
NBC News reported earlier Tuesday that Cohen was discussing a plea deal with the government. CNN reported that Cohen was not planning to cooperate with prosecutors as part of the deal.
Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, did not respond to a request for comment.
