‘I will fight you all day’: Unwise Cuomo dares Trump. Even Colbert says it’s time for ‘dumb’ gov to shut it

Those New Yorkers hoping to vote an intelligent and mature man or woman to New York’s governorship come November should probably not look to incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

First the man-child bashed the entire United States, saying at an event earlier in week that President Donald Trump cannot “make America great again” because America was “never that great.”

Then after the president issued a blistering retort on Twitter, vociferously defending the United States from Cuomo’s attack, the governor doubled down on his boyish petulance.

“We know how tough Trump is: hiding behind tweets & ripping babies from their mothers arms,” he tweeted Friday, neglecting to mention that the separation of illegal immigration children from their illegal immigrant parents began with former President Barack Hussein Obama.

“Let’s get something straight: America is great because it rejects your hate-filled agenda of bigotry & sexism,” his emotional tweet continued, referencing the debunked left-wing talking point that Trump is an unrepentant bigot.

“Ny’ers have your number @realDonaldTrump & will fight you all day. Bring it on,” he concluded.

What is this — a beef between teenage cheerleaders? Check out the president’s own tweets and ask yourself whether his defensive rhetoric justified Cuomo acting like a 15-year-old high school cheerleader.

Look:

Better yet, ask yourself why Cuomo chose to respond to the president’s defense of America but ignore the even more brutal defense offered by left-wing comedian Stephen Colbert.

“That is the dumbest thing you can say as a politician,” Colbert asserted on his CBS talk show Thursday evening. “That’s like closing your speech with, ‘Apple pie sucks, I’m lukewarm on the troops and those stripes make the American flag look fat! Thank you, I hate my mother.'”

“Come on, America may have been through some rough patches, but we’ve also done great things. In World War II, we beat the Axis powers and ended Nazism — for several decades.”

Listen:

When even one of the most left-wing comedians in recent history demolishes you over your ignorant and petty rhetoric, perhaps it’s a sign that you ought to keep quiet? It’s like the old adage goes: If you have nothing intelligent to say, then shut up.

And grow up.
