In a blistering tweet posted Friday evening, President Donald Trump took aim at former Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star turned political commentator wannabe Lebron James over remarks the grammar-challenged celebrity made recently about him.
“Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!” the president wrote, referring to NBA legend Michael Jordan, who’s made it a mission to keep his nose out of politics.

During the interview between James and CNN host Don Lemon, which actually occurred Monday, the NBA star accused the president of using sports to divide Americans.
“What I’ve noticed over the past few months is he’s kinda used sports to kinda divide us, and that’s something that I can’t relate to,” James said, going on to describe how it was via sports that he got to “learn” about white people.

James’ beef with Trump stems from the president’s willingness to call out the NFL players who’ve been disrespecting the national anthem by kneeling as it’s played prior to games.
The president has been especially critical of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who single-handedly launched this whole controversy by repeatedly kneeling during the pre-game national anthem in late 2016.
James’ argument was that calling out players who disrespect the national anthem and thus America is divisive. The president and his supporters feel differently. To them, NFL multimillionaires going around and essentially saying “America sucks” is what’s divisive.

Also consider the alleged purpose of the NFL players’ protest: to put a spotlight on the alleged racial inequalities that exist in America and its criminal justice system.
But as noted by Tucson police officer Brandon Tatum in a viral video posted last year, the American flag has nothing to do with these players’ alleged oppression.
“It’s not about the act of protesting, of believing in something and pursuing,” Tatum said. “It’s the way you’re doing it. Listen, what does the American flag have to do with your perceived oppression? What does the national anthem have to do with these issues that people are bringing up? It’s a separate issue. The flag and the anthem have nothing to do with what you are talking about!”
There’s also the fact that evidence shows America’s criminal justice system is not racist  – a fact ignored by the likes of Kaepernick and James, who seem to prefer fact-less racial grievance mongering to the truth.
