After a fierce confrontation Thursday morning on ABC’s “The View” between co-host Whoopi Goldberg and Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro, two narratives began to emerge about what had really happened afterward.
To hear Pirro tell it, after the show ended Goldberg confronted her backstage, where the incensed co-host proceeded to allegedly berate her with curse words and even spit at her.
According to Goldberg, something somewhat different occurred.
“[A]fter the segment, which ended when it was supposed to — it was not early, it was not late, it ended when it was supposed to — she then called everybody at the table a name I cannot repeat on TV and said it in front of the audience,” Goldberg said on Friday’s edition of “The View.”
She added that Pirro had already been in a foul mood because of a booking mistake: “[Pirro] was upset when she got here, because Ana Navaro was here instead of Joy [Behar].”
“When I came offstage, I went over there, because I was a little hot, okay?” Goldberg continued. “So I went to calm down. She came off — she could have just passed me, she didn’t need to stop, but she stopped — and put a finger in my face, and said, ‘I’ve done more for victims than you ever will.'”
“Then I said to her some few choice words I cannot repeat. Yes, I did say it, I did say it, but I did not spit on her, I did not intimidate her, no one chased her out of here saying get out, but she did leave here cursing at the people who booked the show, she cursed at the guys who do the security for the show.”
Pirro’s version of events is slightly different. While she admitted that she technically started the backstage confrontation, she told fellow Fox News host Sean Hannity that Goldberg was the one who lost her temper.
“When I went off the stage, I was walking downstairs and I said something like, ‘Whoopi, I’ve fought for victims all my life,'” she told Hannity on his radio show Thursday afternoon. “And she came at me as I was leaving, saying ‘F- you!’ in my face, literally spitting at me. ‘F- you, get the F**k out of this building!'”

She echoed this interpretation of events again the following morning on “Fox & Friends,” saying, “She was nuts going off the set. I’ve been a prosecutor, judge, D.A. for 30 years. I’ve tried murder cases. I can go toe-to-toe with anybody. But that was abuse. And it was sad. It was a sad moment that you know, she was triggered. And I’ve never understood triggering.”
But who’s actually telling the truth? At the moment it’s a case of she-said, she-said, though the leftist media has already begun trying to spin the event against Pirro.
Take The Daily Beast, which cited an anonymous witness to claim “that after the segment ended and Goldberg walked off-stage, Pirro ripped off her microphone while the crew members hovered around her and she shouted, ‘Those c–ksuckers! This is exactly what I told them would happen.'”
