British diver who helped rescue boys hasn’t ruled out legal action against billionaire Elon Musk

Tech billionaire Elon Musk didn’t take too kindly to his idea on how to rescue 12 boys trapped in a Thailand cave being dismissed by the British diver who helped save the soccer team, based on a shocking tweet Musk posted that essentially called the man a pedophile.

The diver, Vern Unsworth, who said Musk’s plan to use a mini-submarine was a “PR stunt,” struggled to put words to his feeling about the billionaire’s broadside, but he’s not ruling out legal action,  7 News Sydney reported.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla, showed up at the cave where a soccer team was trapped with his “kid-sized” sub, leaving the contraption behind in the event it may be of use, according to Fox News.

(He dubbed the mini-sub “Wild Boar” — in reference to the soccer team.)

But Unsworth said the boat was useless.

“It just had absolutely no chance of working. He had no conception of what the cave passage was like. The submarine I believe was about 5 feet, 6 inches long, rigid, so it wouldn’t have gone round corners or round any obstacles,” he said. “It wouldn’t have made the first 50 meters into the cave from the dive start point. It was just a PR stunt.”

Musk responded by suggesting in a tweet that he’ll make a video of the sub being used to reach the cave where the 12 boys and their soccer coach were trapped.

The billionaire included a classless attack in the now deleted tweet, referring to Unsworth as “pedo guy.”

“We will make one of the mini-sub/pod going all the way to Cave 5 no problemo. Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it,” the tweet read.

Twitter Musk

Musk doubled down on the charge when a social media user emphasized that he was “calling the guy who found the children a pedo,” according to The Guardian.

“Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true,” Mush reportedly replied.

He also suggested in another deleted tweet that Upsworth’s role was diminished, if he was there at all.

“Never saw this British expat guy who lives in Thailand (sus) at any point when we were in the caves,” the tweet read, according to Fox News.

The rescued boys are seen in the tweet below paying tribute to a Thai Navy Seal who died during the rescue.
