With Democrats in the U.S. Senate jumping on the far-left’s bandwagon in the call to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, we are reminded of the critical service they play in keeping Americans safe.
ICE agents are involved in a nationwide manhunt for three illegal immigrants after two Ohio teenage sisters were kidnapped and raped.
“One man is already in custody in Ohio, Simon Juan Thomas is being charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor,” CNN’s Kaylee Hartung reported. “But there are three other men who are on the run.”
The crime allegedly took place last week at a Days Inn motel in Bowling Green. The girls, just 13 and 14, were reportedly staying at the motel with their parents.
Hartung noted that the men are in the U.S. illegally and that I.C.E. is involved in the manhunt.
“We’re told by Bowling Green Police that in detectives’ investigation of the case, they have found that all four of these men, though, have fraudulent paperwork in regards to their immigration status,” she added.
The man in custody is from Guatemala, two of the three men on the run, Juan Adiel and David Contreras, are from Mexico. It’s not known what country the fourth man, Arnulfo Ramos, is from.
While the left attack ICE agents, often comparing them to Nazi storm troopers, in their call to do away with the agency tasked with enforcing U.S. immigration laws, President Donald Trump praised the “tough” men and women doing a tough job, which now includes tracking down three alleged rapists.
Speaking Tuesday at the Salute to Service dinner in West Virginia, the president was adamant that ICE will not be abolished as he heaped praise on agents.
“These are tough people. And you have to be tough,” he said. “And when they have a problem with MS-13 gangs, and all of these others that came in through horrible and weak immigration laws — that surely we’re strengthening up, we’re going to get them done. We need tough laws, we need fair laws.”
“These guys they walk in to those areas, they take them out of there so fast — they’re not afraid of anything, Trump continued. “It is, it’s like you’re liberating a town. Like in a war, you’re liberating a town or an area. And ICE goes in there, and they go in there and sometimes they have to go in swinging. They don’t mind. They’re tough.”
And they’re not going anywhere any time soon.
“I hear Democrats saying we want to abandon ICE, we want to abandon — we’re not abandoning ICE,” Trump said. “And we’re not abandoning our law enforcement, it’s just the opposite.”
