Judge Jeanine skewers hypocrite Laura Bush: ‘Why didn’t you tell your husband his policy was cruel and inhumane?’

Last Sunday former first lady Laura Bush added to the duplicitous media hysteria over President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policies by penning an op-ed for The Washington Post critical of the president’s administration.

“I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart,” Laura wrote.

Does it really?

Six days after her op-ed appeared in one of the most liberal newspapers in America, Fox News host and firebrand conservative commentator Judge Jeanine Pirro fired back by dropping the following indisputable truth bomb: Laura’s husband, former President George W. Bush, had also maintained “zero tolerance’ immigration policies.

So why didn’t Laura ever write an op-ed to the liberal media about her husband? And why didn’t she confront her husband, Pirro wondered Saturday.

“Thanks for entering the fray and calling the removal of children cruel and inhumane. Why didn’t you just roll over one night and tell your husband the president that his zero-tolerance policy was cruel and inhumane?” she pithily said.

Hypocrisy much?

All this hoopla by the Democrat Party, its left-wing media allies and its establishment Republican allies (looking right at you, Laura Bush) has been based on the Trump administration’s policy of detaining illegal immigrant children separately from their illegal immigrant parents.

During the Obama administration illegal families had simply been released into the U.S. Earlier this year the Trump administration implemented a policy that demanded illegals instead be detained, processed and then deported. But because of laws implemented during former administrations — including the Bush administration — illegal children were not allowed to be detained with their illegal parents. Thus they needed to housed separately.

Here’s the kicker: Although this rule began with previous administrations, including that of Mrs. Bush’s husband, it was Trump who ultimately rescinded it last week.

Yet who did Laura Bush, an alleged Republican, choose to side with in this whole fracas? The left. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why so many contemporary conservatives distrust and sometimes even loathe old-school establishment Republicans.

The narrative that’s been depicted by the unhinged left — one of Trump cruelly “kidnapping” illegal immigrant children and tossing them into “concentration camps” — is a bold-faced lie.

And so long as establishments Republicans remain so eager to swallow the left’s lies hook, line and sinker, it’s unlikely they’ll ever regain their standing with the 60+ million Americans who proudly voted for Trump during the 2016 election.
