CNN’s Jim Acosta loses battle with Trump 2020 campaign chair after Parscale calls for press credentials to be pulled

An interesting battle royale broke out on Twitter between Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale and CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta over the latter’s inappropriate actions while in North Korea.

With President Trump meeting North Korea leader Kim Jung Un on the Singaporean resort island of Sentosa on Tuesday, Acosta made it a habit of blurting out questions at the president at inopportune moments.

The arrogant CNN reporter had no qualms with his behavior, as seen when he was caught on a hot mic after yelling out a question as Trump and Kim appeared briefly on a balcony.

“Hey, if they’re not going to let me in the f*cking meeting, then that’s what happens,” a voice attributed to Acosta can be heard saying. “All day long. That’s the way it goes, baby.”

The news of Acosta blurting out questions during the historic summit prompted Parscale to respond, calling the CNN reporter “an absolute disgrace.” He also said his press credentials should be suspended.

“Jim @Acosta should immediately have his press credentials suspended. He is an absolute disgrace! @realDonaldTrump,” Parscale tweeted.

Acosta replied to the tweet to suggest this would be the action of a dictatorship, not a democracy — don’t tell former President Barack Obama, whose administration tried to shut out Fox News, questioning the network’s legitimacy as a news agency.

“Dear Brad.. dictatorships take away press credentials. Not democracies,” tweeted the CNN reporter.

CNN’s Jake Tapper echoed the sentiment expressed by his colleague.

“An attitude that fits better in Pyongyang than in Washington, D.C., but nice to see folks sharing ideas, coming together, etc,” Tapper tweeted.

Parscale fired back to remind Acosta that it’s not all about him.

“Dear Jim. It isn’t about the constitution. It’s about respect. He won the presidency not you. Go win it yourself if you need it all about you,” Parscale countered.

While devastatingly appropriate given the target’s self-absorption, Parscale’s tweet was not the only response that was right on the money.

Jesse Kelly, a Marine Corps combat veteran who ran for Congress in Arizona, was only too happy to offer Acosta a little perspective on the ways of the world.

“Jim, I don’t think you need your press credentials pulled. But dictatorships arrest journalists and pull their fingernails out. They don’t pull their credentials. Maybe a little less hyperbole would do you well,” Kelly tweeted.
