How could a salad emoji ‘fail’ cause so much fuss? Ask Google. They were going for ‘inclusion and diversity’

Though Google runs the most popular search engine in the world, these days most people recognize the multinational technology giant for its overzealous commitment to identity politics, political correctness, multiculturalism and other “progressive” political ideas.

It should therefore shock no one to learn that the left-wing corporation has begun redesigning its smartphone emojis to be more “inclusive.”

Emojis are the graphic symbols smartphone users include in their messages to let friends and/or loves ones know what they’re thinking about or how they feel.

The latest redesigned emoji is that of a salad.

“There’s big talk about inclusion and diversity at Google, so if you need any evidence of Google is making this priority may I direct your attention to the [salad] emoji,” Jennifer Daniel, the head of design for Google’s emojis, explained in a tweet last Wednesday.

“[W]e’ve removed the egg in Android P beta 2, making this a more inclusive vegan salad,” she added, referencing the smartphone operating system designed by Google.

Look:

Wait, what?

Who says all salads must be vegan? And how does it promote “inclusion” and “diversity” to not include eggs that other people — it’s a diverse world full of egg eaters — enjoy in their salads?

Good questions, right? Many more followed on Twitter.

In regard to Bailey Madison’s question, the answer is likely yes. These days people — particularly snowflakey liberals — are offended by everything, including but not limited to chopsticks, t-shirts and America’s national motto, “In God We Trust.” Welcome to 21st-century America. *facepalm*

Responding to concerns by Twitter users, Daniels tried to blame something else on Google’s new “inclusive salad.”

“Hello carnivores, vegans and everyone in between! Just want to clarify that the goal of salad emoji redesign was to create an image more faithful to unicode’s description. ‘A bowl of healthy salad, containing lettuce, tomato, and other salad items such as cucumber.’ Bon appetite!” she wrote.

Sure, except that’s not what she originally said. In her first tweet she specifically pointed to “inclusion” and “diversity” as reasons for the resigned salad emoji …

Check out the reaction’s to her second tweet below:

Zach’s point was spot on. To be inclusive, Google would have to cater to everybody. But its redesigned emoji makes it clear that its ideas of “inclusion” and “diversity” are baloney. Speaking of which, why doesn’t that salad contain baloney? How rude and NOT-inclusive!
