CNN has long since stopped trying to disguise their blood lust to destroy President Donald Trump, and the Trump administration remains just as determined to call the network out for their coverage as seen Saturday when White House press secretary Sarah Sanders scolded a CNN producer for a “completely inaccurate” tweet.
In the no-nonsense way we’ve come to expect from the president’s spokesperson, the rebuke came in response to a tweet from CNN producer Greg Hughes remarking on a photo of President Trump sitting at the G7 summit as a number of world leaders gather around him — Hughes accused the White House of using a “group signing” as a means of “clever visual messaging.”
“Dear @newsbyhughes @CNN, Congratulations! Once again you are wrong. There is no “some kind of group signing” taking place. It was all negotiations. We were there. You were not. @Scavino45 tweet is 100% factual. Will you retract your “clever” and completely inaccurate tweet?” Sanders tweeted.
Dear @newsbyhughes @CNN,
Congratulations! Once again you are wrong. There is no “some kind of group signing” taking place. It was all negotiations. We were there. You were not. @Scavino45 tweet is 100% factual. Will you retract your “clever” and completely inaccurate tweet? https://t.co/iWhFfByiLn— Kayleigh McEnany 45 Archived (@PressSec45) June 9, 2018
The moment in question can be seen in a tweet from White House Director of Social Media Dan Scavino Jr.
“A look at negotiations, from behind the scenes at the #G7Charlevoix Summit,” read the caption.

Hughes’ tweet, which he has since deleted, stated:
“Pretty clever visual messaging here from the White House — taking some kind of group signing event and framing it instead to show President Trump seemingly holding court.”
Here’s another angle of the moment in question shared on Instagram by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The photo, which has gone viral, shows Merkel standing on the other side of the table, staring down the president as other world leaders, to include French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, look on.
“Day two of the G-7 summit in Canada: spontaneous meeting between two working sessions,” the English portion of the caption read.
And if the side-eye Merkel shot at Trump as he speaks with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde is any indication, there’s not much love lost between the two leaders.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction to Sanders putting CNN producer Greg Hughes and the network in its place from Twitter.
As one social media user noted: “I guess it’s hard for them to break that #fakenews habit.”
Well done…. He did retract & delete….

If they had the capacity to admit when they are wrong, we could have moved along united as a nation long before this. I highly doubt this person will admit their error, but suspect they WILL delete their tweet when they find out how wrong they were. #MAGA2018 #FakeNewsCNN https://t.co/s5X1z6A9mV
