Michael Feinberg is suing a New York CVS pharmacy, claiming his marriage was irreparably harmed when a pharmacy employee told his wife about his secret Viagra prescription, according to Buzz60.
When Feinberg initially dropped off the prescription for eight 100-milligram pills of the erectile-dysfunction drug, that came with five refills, he explicitly told them that he would pay cash and instructed them not to run it through his insurance.
A few days later, his wife called the pharmacy to check on a prescription of her own and the employee mentioned her husband’s “blue bombers,” as the blue Viagra pills were described by the New York Post.
According to the lawsuit filed, the husband said the employee “without solicitation, improperly informed [Feinberg’s] wife that [Feinberg’s] ‘prescription for Viagra was not being covered by insurance.’”
And Feinberg said that’s when his marriage went limp.
Describing his wife as a “third party,” the man claims CVS violated his privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, a federal law that requires a patient’s permission before revealing their “confidential protected healthcare information,” The Post reported.
What court documents don’t explain is why Feinberg’s wife learning he had a Viagra prescription would have such a damaging effect on his marriage. Unless…
