Well, this IS the camp that believes you never let a serious crisis go to waste.
Former President Barack Obama’s right-hand woman — or would that be left-hand? — Valerie Jarrett let the country know she was “fine” after Trump-supporting actress Roseanne Barr compared her to a character in the film “Planet of the Apes.”
In responding to Barr’s ill-advised tweet seen by many as racist, Jarrett spoke about turning the incident “into a teaching moment,” but political opportunism is proving to be the more accurate description.
Under the banner of “civility,” the former president’s political organizing movement, Organizing for Action, a spin off from his campaign apparatus, is using the incident to further build its base while encouraging followers to vote.
“How can we cultivate civility in our government and in our society at large? Read this special note to OFA supporters from @ValerieJarrett and find out where we can start,” the OFA tweeted.

The tweet links to a message from Jarrett lecturing America on “who we are,” and while President Donald Trump is not mentioned, the overtones are hard to miss.
“The culture that we’re creating,” she wrote, “and the interactions we have with our fellow citizens each day are influenced by those who we elect to represent us.”
“When we elect people that continually demean others — those of another race, or religion, or gender, or identity, or sexual orientation — and reach for an America in the past instead of one in the future, the results hurt us all,” she continues.
For a party that cannot seem to drag itself out of the 19th century, Democrats sure are quick to claim Republicans long for the past.
“Who we lift up to represent us speaks volumes about whether we treat each other with compassion and civility — and it’s time to demand better,” Jarrett concluded.
You know, like liberal “comedian” Samantha Bee, who called first daughter Ivanka Trump a “feckless c*nt.”

As expected, social media users were willing to call attention to the “hate” seen on the left and the glaring double standard in America when it comes to “civility.”
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
Is that just gop or does that include the vile dems who attack people with names. You cant demand civility and turn a bl8nd eye on what one side is doing and only demand the other to comply

when the left becomes civil it will be a miracle, but with as much hate as I see from the left, I don’t believe it will ever happen.

A teachable moment, what we have learned is never apologize to the left, follow the same rules as they do, case in point where was the out rage when scumbag Samantha Beeitch made the vulgar tweet again Ivanka Trump, was she fired? No in fact she won an award. An awakening

By the way, when you speak of civility, think of the meaning and what the majority of anti-trump protesters do. I live between DC and Charlottesville and I have seen the destruction this so called civility has caused. Obama has called out hecklers…he could bring some peace!
