When conservatives cheered after the NFL instituted a new rule last month that bars players from protesting the national anthem, liberals accused both them and the league of being racist.
Race-baiting leftists might want to rethink that strategy now that Lavar Ball, the black media personality and businessman who founded the Junior Basketball Association, has shared his perspective about the NFL’s decision.
“It’s their league. If you don’t want to do it, get out their league,” Ball bluntly told TMZ over the weekend when asked about the NFL’s new rule.
Though he admitted that he thinks the NFL’s new rule crosses the line, he stressed that the NFL may do whatever it wants with its league, just as he may do whatever he wants with the JBL.
Set to launch in late June, the JBL will be a men’s professional basketball league for aspiring players just out of high school, and Lavar Ball will be its boss.
“That’s why I got my own league. Do what I want,” he added.
When TMZ asked Balls whether he plans to allow his own players to protest the national anthem, he further demonstrated why labeling opponents of national anthem protests racists is dumb and misguided.
“I got some youngsters, man. They going to do the anthem. They not going to be kneeling and doing all that,” he said.
*fervent round of applause*
It sounds like he opposes national anthem protests. Does that make him a racist? Or maybe it just makes him a proud patriot who recognizes that the untold myriads of Americans who’ve sacrificed their lives to uphold our freedoms and values deserve better than to be disrespected by athletes — not that leftists would ever admit this?
Admitting that Ball is just a patriot would also mean admitting that President Donald Trump and his supporters — who have been vocal in their opposition to the NFL’s anthem protests — are patriots as well, versus unrepentant racists who hate black people.
And judging by Twitter’s reaction to Ball’s remark, it doesn’t look like liberals intend to allow this to happen anytime soon:
LaVar has spoken…and so it shall be done. What a screwball. Can we stop asking for his opinion? It’s not newsworthy 🤦♂️

But at least they weren’t calling Ball racist. Or at least not yet. Knowing how far down the rabbit hole of insanity that the left has fallen, it’s probably only a matter of time …
