During former President Barack Hussein Obama’s eight year reign of political correctness run amok, his administration hijacked the Federal Aviation Administration by revamping its hiring standards to place the focus on promoting diversity versus hiring quality candidates.
“A group within the FAA … determined that the workforce was too white,” attorney Michael Pearson, who’s filed a lawsuit against the FAA, said Friday during an appearance on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “They had a concerted effort through the Department of Transportation in the Obama administration to change that.”
Hellbent on making the FAA less white, the Obama administration began requiring that applicants fill out a “biographical questionnaire” before any other screening. And these questionnaires are reportedly still being used.
“Those who answer the questions in a way that diversity monitors don’t like cannot be considered for hiring, no matter how much experience they have, or how well they may do on other portions of the testing. The biographical questionnaire is all important,” Carlson explained.
The problem is that all the questions — and particularly the FAA’s preferred answers — are troubling, not to mention bigoted. They give the appearance that the Obama administration thought being inept at complex school subjects made one more likely to be a minority.
One question asks applicants to pinpoint the high school subject in which they fared worst. Those applicants who choose science reportedly receive the most points.
“In other words, if you can’t do science, the FAA is especially eager to hire you as an air traffic controller. You get 10 points for being bad at science,” Carlson noted.
Another question awards the most points to applicants who haven’t worked a single job in the past three years: “Apparently, unemployed people make the best air traffic controllers. This is demented, by the way,” the Fox News host said.
It’s also backwards and racist.
But this is also typical of Obama, who prized racial diversity and political correctness at the expense of everything else, including basic common sense.
He is, after all, the same president who tried to force inner-city diversity on America’s suburbs, and who routinely practiced the soft bigotry of low expectations, acting as if all black people were victims of an oppressive nation …
And not just any oppressive nation, but the same one that elected him to office in 2008.
Obama worldview was jaded, and unfortunately that worldview continues to reverberate through the federal government because of the policies he put in place during his time in office.
It serves as a stark reminder that President Donald Trump’s mission to reverse his predecessor’s damage and “Make America Great Again” will take far longer than just a couple years, let alone a couple months.
It means digging deep into the government and identifying — and then fixing — every facet that Obama corrupted, including the FAA.
