How long would you stand in line to see Trump? Check out these diehard rally goers

Supporters of President Donald Trump began lining up roughly 8.5 hours before the scheduled start time of a rally in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday.

“President Trump’s Nashville rally isn’t scheduled to begin for another 8.5 hours, but people are already lining up outside,” a reporter with The Washington Post tweeted.

The attendees in line may be tested by heavy residual rainfall from Tropical Storm Alberto, which made landfall late Monday in Florida and headed inland from the Gulf of Mexico, Nashville’s Fox 17 reports.

The doors to the event will open at 4 p.m. and Trump is scheduled to speak three hours later. Some people began lining up as far out as a day before the official start time, according to Fox 17.

Trump aims to raise money and rally support for Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who is running for one of Tennessee’s Senate spots against former-Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen.

The race is tight for a state Trump won with 61 percent of the vote. Recent polls have reflected a slight to comfortable lead for Bredesen between 3 and 10 percentage points, NBC News reports.
