‘Hey, Publix …’ Tom Fitton not cool with grocery chain rolling over for Hogg mob

A day after David Hogg and his gang of bullies coerced Publix into suspending its contributions to an NRA-supporting gubernatorial candidate in Florida, Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch dropped a truth bomb on them.

“Those kids that were out there this week, skipping school, protesting, being used by these leftist politicians to promote irrelevant gun measures — those kids aren’t going to be more safe by the policies that left is using them to promote,” he bluntly said in a video posted Saturday to Twitter.

Led by Hogg, a teen activist rising from the Parkland mass shooting in February, the kids held die-in protests at Publix’s stores in the hopes of forcing it to rescind its endorsement of Adam Putnam, a proud NRA member running for governor in Florida.

Their belief is that the NRA and its members are responsible for gun violence. Why? Because the NRA has the audacity to defend the American people’s Second Amendment rights.

But as noted by Fitton in another part of his video, what happened in Parkland months earlier had nothing to do with guns and everything to do with the incompetence of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

“We had all these demonstrations the other day, all directed at taking guns away from law-abiding Americans, as best I can tell, not dealing with the security failures by government agencies in protecting those children and ensuring those security failures don’t take place in the future,” he said.

As proof he cited the office’s training and operations manual, a copy of which Judicial Watch obtained. He explained that the manual makes it clear that in the case of a mass shooting, officers should immediately confront the shooter.

But that’s not what happened Feb. 14 when a shooter opened fire at Stoneman Douglas High School. Instead local officers remained outside, leaving the kids within at the mercy of the shooter. Seventeen teachers and students wound up dead as a result.

This stunning incompetence and failure to carry out the duties of their jobs is what Hogg and his band of bullies should really be protesting, Fitton argued.

None of these kids’ protests against the NRA and its direct or indirect supporters will make any difference in any future mass shooting.

Regarding the latest mass shooting earlier this month in Texas, for instance, BizPac Review already confirmed that none of Hogg’s gun control proposals would have stopped it. Not one.

What ultimately brought it to a quick end — thus reducing the total loss of life — were the quick actions of local officers.

“‘Heroes’ inside Santa Fe High School last week cornered the mass shooter within four minutes, keeping him contained until additional officers arrived to evacuate teachers and students, the Galveston County Sheriff said,” ABC News reported following the May 18 shooting.

This is what Hogg and his buddies should be demanding of every police unit across America. Instead they’re busy targeting supermarket chains like Publix — and humiliating themselves in the process.
