First daughter Ivanka Trump is hitting the campaign trail next month with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
…in California.
Which may prompt some to wonder if this is going help or hurt McCarthy. After all, we’re talking about liberal La-La Land.

There’s little doubt appearing with Ivanka Trump will come with risks, in large part, depending on the latest scandal du jour the anti-Trump media is running with on a given day.
But Ivanka is scheduled to headline two fundraisers for McCarthy on June 18, Politico Playbook reported. One event will be in Fresno and another in Los Angeles — proceeds will go to Protect the House, a joint-fundraising effort McCarthy formed with Vice President Mike Pence.
“At the request of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Ivanka Trump will be headlining a June 18 Protect the House fundraiser with the Leader in California,” a statement from Ivanka Trump’s office reads, according to Playbook.
“Ivanka developed a strong relationship with Leader McCarthy during their efforts to Pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and its Child Tax Credit provisions. They also worked closely on Seta/Fosta legislation to combat online sex trafficking.”

Her agreement to get involved is a big deal, as Playbook noted: “Ivanka isn’t exactly a mainstay on the money trail, so this is significant.”

Some of the unhinged responses online to the news proves how fraught with risk her appearance is.
Here’s a sampling of reactions from Twitter.

Just making sure she gets her cut of the proceeds. She’s nothing more than a better looking version of her father.

Makes sense to have @IvankaTrump, the owner of sweatshops that abuse women children who happens to be the daughter of a sexual predator crook currently separating families headline GOP fundraisers. https://t.co/MA1hzp3R5R
