After the latest mass shooting Friday at a high school in Texas, two Obama-era education officials suggested that parents pull their children out of America’s public school system “until we have better gun laws.”
Former Assistant Education Secretary Peter Cunningham initially suggested the idea on Twitter, and former Education Secretary Arne Duncan later shared it on his own feed.

While there are several legitimate reasons for parents to pull their children out of America’s failed public school system — including concerns over left-wing indoctrination in Islam, socialism and fake science, as well as concerns over a lack of armed security — this isn’t one of them.
What sort of “better gun laws” would have prevented Friday’s tragedy, which reportedly left eight students and two teachers dead?
The suspect in the latest shooting used a revolver and a shotgun, meaning bans on so-called “assault weapons” wouldn’t have stopped him.
The suspect likewise obtained his firearms from his father’s stash. And since his father had purchased the weapons legally, this means neither universal background checks nor waiting periods would have stopped the shooter either.
The suspect had also reportedly planned to set off explosives at his high school. The only law that might have prevented him from building bombs is an unrealistic one banning the use of household chemicals.

What’s even more stunning about Cunningham and Duncan’s absurd tweets — besides the fact that they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about — is that the Obama administration spent eight years hammering parents who either homeschooled their children or sent their kids to private charter schools.
In 2013 the Obama administration tried to ship an asylum-seeking family from Germany back home after it was learned that the parents preferred homeschooling their children.
During a speech two years later, Obama criticized parents who send their children to private schools:
But because the idea of homeschooling kids or sending them to private schools now fits the left’s agenda, of course political opportunists like Cunningham and Duncan are ready to embrace it. What a bunch of hacks.

The irony is rich, ain’t it? To be fair, logic, reason and consistency have never been liberal strong suits. Liberals generally using childish emotions and hysteria to craft their arguments. And that, of course, is why they invariably lose every argument. Sad!
