Local NAACP president cries racial profiling after traffic stop, but body-cam tells a different story

The South Carolina NAACP president, who is a reverend, was busted for lying about being racially profiled after a recent traffic stop.

Unfortunately for Rev. Jerrod Moultrie, the cop involved was wearing a body camera that exposed his claim as little more than unfounded race baiting — a staple on the left.

Moultrie was pulled over for failing to use his turn signal and the officer would also explain that there was an issue with the registration for the recently purchased car, the video shows.

After the stop, Moultrie took to Facebook to claim he was a victim of racial profiling by a white officer who was belligerent and abusive.

“Tonight, I was racially profiled by Timmonsville Officer CAUSE I WAS DRIVING A MERCEDES BENZ AND GOING HOME IN A NICE NEIGHBORHOOD,” the since deleted post stated, according to WPDE-TV.

He shared a completely fabricated account of their conversation — again, the man is an alleged “reverend” — to include claiming the officer asked him if he had drugs in the car.

Moultri contacted Timmonsville Police Chief Billy Brown the next morning to say he was mistreated, the ABC affiliate reported.

“He made a comment that the officer accused him of having drugs in the car,” the police chief told WPDE-TV. “He said that his wife and grandchild was in the car. He asked them not to move because the officer looked as if he might shoot them or something.”

After Brown reviewed the body cam video, not only was he shocked, but the police chief was concerned about the impact the incident could’ve had on the community.

“When I saw the video, I was shocked that someone who is supposed to be a community leader, a pastor, and head of the NAACP would just come out and tell a blatant lie,” he said. “It bothered me. It really bothered me, thinking about the racial unrest it could’ve cost in the community and it’s just troubling to me that someone who held a position like that would come out and just tell a lie.”

As it turned out, not only did none of the allegations leveled by the man of God prove to be true, but the officer involved was efficient, overly polite and didn’t even issue a ticket.

Which goes to show that an already difficult job is being made darn near impossible by the constant politicization on the left of their efforts to serve and protect.
