JW lead investigator warns Trump it’s ‘time to fight like hell,’ Mueller probe is a ‘slow-motion political coup’

Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs expressed deep frustration over the “ignorance” of Robert Mueller’s Russian probe, saying “our government is a captive of a corrupt legal system, a corrupt Justice Department, a corrupt set of judges… a Deep State.”

Joining Dobbs was Chris Farrell, director of investigations for Judicial Watch, who pulled no punched, calling the Mueller investigation “a slow-motion political coup.”

“It’s now time to fight like hell,” Farrell warned President Donald Trump and his legal team.

“This kind of sitting back and letting it play out and letting all these characters run the tables, make their various declarations, moving the ball,” he added. “Look, this is really not a legal investigation. This is a slow-motion political coup that’s being carried out by legal processes.”

All of which left Dobbs wondering “what in the world will we tolerate next?”

Thursday marks one year since Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to investigate collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, a probe prompted in part by an unverified dossier Hillary Clinton’s campaign funded.

Adding to Dobbs concerns about corruption, two top former CIA officials have come forward to contradict repeated claims by former CIA Director John Brennan that the salacious Steele dossier didn’t factor into the Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian interference in the 2016 election, Real Clear Investigations reported.

More from RCI:

Recently retired National Security Agency Director Michael Rogers stated in a classified letter to Congress that the Clinton campaign-funded memos did factor into the ICA. And James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence under President Obama, conceded in a recent CNN interview that the assessment was based on “some of the substantive content of the dossier.” Without elaborating, he maintained that “we were able to corroborate” certain allegations.

These accounts are at odds with Brennan’s May 2017 testimony before the House Intelligence Committee that the Steele dossier  was “not in any way used as the basis for the intelligence community’s assessment” that Russia interfered in the election to help elect Donald Trump. Brennan has repeated this claim numerous times, including in February on “Meet the Press.”

The CIA and FBI analysts who worked on the Intelligence Community Assessment were hand picked by Brennan, according to the RCI analysis, and included former FBI counterespionage chief Peter Strzok, who a source said was the intermediary between Brennan and [fired FBI Director James] Comey.”

Strzok, one of the authors of the ICA, according to their source, was involved in an affair with a colleague, Lisa Page, with both being booted from Mueller’s team after anti-Trump bias was discovered in text messages between the lovers.

All of which supports Dobb’s claim that the whole sordid affair stinks from the head down.
