Mentally “broke” comedian Kathy Griffin is desperate to become relevant again and sees the path back to pop culture glory being to attack all things Trump, jumping on the bandwagon to condemn an inappropriate “dying” joke about Sen. John McCain.
…that the left is leading the charge here being quite instructive.
Grffin went on an exhaustive Twitter rant Saturday night — a therapeutic outlet for the comedian when she can’t score a paying gig — attacking White House strategic communications director Mercedes Schlapp and her husband Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, who she called “DC’s most spineless power couple.”
A) It's story time….let's talk about my encounter at the White House Correspondents Dinner with Mercedes & Matt Schlapp..DC's most spineless power couple. I thought I was done talking about the dinner but learning that @mercedesschlapp stands w/ Kelly Sadler, well…here we go pic.twitter.com/oVXDztjQg2

The rambling 19 tweet assault recalled Griffin’s run-in last month with Schlapp at a White House Correspondents’ Dinner after-party hosted by NBC/MSNBC. Here is a sampling of the wares:
D) I always consider encounters with Trump officials as a privilege. I’m fortunate enough to be invited to events where I may run into these criminal clowns..so I feel like its my responsibility to tell them exactly what I think of them.

J) First thing Mercedes says to me is “I thought the comedian (meaning @michelleisawolf) was crass and humorless.”
I immediately thought to myself “You wanna go there? Game on, bitch.”

M) Matt just stood there gingerly holding his drink and sucking up some sort of clear alcohol (I don’t drink) through a tiny straw like a gossipy little bitch listening in but not having the chutzpah to speak up cause he was faced with me in-person. pic.twitter.com/8sLsV3rXxL

The purpose of the vulgar tweet-storm was to hit Mercedes Schlapp for standing by Kelly Sadler, the White House aide who commented on Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., opposing CIA nominee Gina Haspel by joking “it doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”
The woman who called Schlapp a “bitch” and posed with a bloody severed head of President Donald Trump couldn’t pass on a chance to establish moral superiority.
Griffin tweeted: “I can sleep at night @mercedesschlapp – your support of a monster and your hypocrisy will stick with you for the rest of your life.
S) After Trump ends up wherever he ends up they’ll find the next opportunity by selling their souls yet again…

As expected, Sadler’s “joke” fell flat, but Schlapp’s support was more about standing with a coworker when a private remark is leaked to the media, not what was said.
Nonetheless, Griffin’s unhinged Twitter rant prompted a hilarious response from Mr. Schlapp, who commented that it was “kinda creepy” that Griffin followed them at the party.
“Kathy I think it’s time to move on now I’m getting a bit worried. Go away from the light,” he tweeted.

Ever the victim, Griffin replied: “What are you gonna do @mschlapp? You threatening me? Mercedes can’t handle the truth after she approached me? Hmmmm.”

The adversaries go back and forth for some time, to include Schapp informing her of how well things are going under President Trump, before he concluded by letting the vile comedian know her tactics are not going to work against them.
No threats kathy. But you need to understand you can't shame mercy, me, kelly or any other American. We are doing what we think is right https://t.co/ZnOnrEFq8n

And who dare says that Twitter is not a legitimate source of pure entertainment?
