The ongoing war of words between former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who recently joined President Donald Trump’s legal team, and adult film star Stormy Daniels’ attorney,Ā Michael Avenatti, soared to climactic proportions Friday afterĀ Avenatti accused Giuliani of working for a “pimp.”
As evidence, he cited a comedy sketch filmed 16 years ago that depicted then-businessman Trump hitting on then-Mayor Giuliani dressed in drag:
Never mind that the sketch was reportedly filmed for a charity event …
The latest round in this increasingly salacious salvo began Tuesday, when Avenatti suggested in a tweet that he and Giuliani should publicly debate “the facts of” his client’s lawsuit against the president.
“I think it would be very helpful for the public to witness a discussion between Mr. Giuliani and me concerning the facts of the case, etc.,” he tweeted. “I am willing to participate on any network provided both sides are provided a fair shake.”
Except lawyers aren’t supposed to debate their cases publicly — unless they’re on court TV, of course — but rather in the courtroom:

Though it took Giuliani three days to reply, when he finally responded he did so with a veritable humdinger.
“I don’t get involved with pimps,” he bluntly replied when asked by Business InsiderĀ Friday whether he would entertain a debate with Avenatti. “The media loves to give him room because he makes these roundabout charges and they turn out to mean nothing. I think he’s going to get himself in serious trouble.”
Ouch!

It’s ironic because, of all three men — Trump, Giuliani and Avenatti — the only one who appears to be breaking the law (which is what pimps do) is the latter.
Earlier this week he released a dossier containing some of the confidential bank records of the president’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen:
After significant investigation, we have discovered that Mr. Trumpās atty Mr. Cohen received approximately $500,000 in the mos. after the election from a company controlled by a Russian Oligarc with close ties to Mr. Putin. These monies may have reimbursed the $130k payment.

The only way he could have uncovered such detailed informed about Cohen’s records is through a leak from either special counsel Robert Mueller’s office or the U.S. Attorneyās Office for the Southern District of New York.
Both parties reportedly previously requested access to Cohen’s financial records from the government’sĀ the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
According to Robert Barnes, a renowned Las Vegas-based trial attorney, this suggests something very illegal is going on behind the scenes:

Neither the president nor Giuliani are pimps. They’re good men who once humbled themselves enough to perform in an embarrassing comedy sketch to raise money for charity.
AvenattiĀ isn’t necessarily a pimp — but he certainly is someone who might very well soon need to hire his own attorney.
