Outspoken actor James Woods took a veritable axe to the Republican Party in a scathing tweet Saturday, blasting the GOP for its continual fecklessness, especially as it relates to special counsel Robert Mueller.
Woods’ attack on Republicans started with him posting a quote from a Fox News piece.
“The Mueller probe is political warfare through legal means — not surprising when you consider that the Democrats are the party of lawyers, funded by lawyers,” he wrote, quoting Fox News contributor Steve Hilton.
“Republicans chronically underestimate the venomous ruthlessness of Democrats. The former continue to engage in ‘fair’ political discourse, while the latter are sticking shanks into the necks of all who would dare stand in their way. When will pussy Republicans ever fight back??!” he added in a second tweet minutes later.

Of course they won’t. Just a little over a week ago the GOP-led Senate Judiciary Committee approved a bill to protect the special counsel.
“The intent of this bill is to ensure that special counsels appointed by the Justice Department are only removed for cause. The bill allows a special counsel a way to appeal his or her removal by the Attorney General to a panel of judges,” committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican, announced at the time.
Why not just blow Mueller a kiss while at it?
Four Republicans voted in favor of the bill, including Sens. Grassley, Lindsey Graham, Tom Tillis and Chuck Grassley. Though it passed the committee, it never advanced to the Senate floor because of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, surprisingly enough.
But that’s not all. Earlier in the month a ragtag group of so-called Republican commentators and politicians known collectively as “Republicans for the Rule of Law” launched a television ad in defense of the special counsel.
“In Vietnam, Robert Mueller rescued fallen Marines under enemy fire, and was awarded a bronze star for valor,” the half-minute ad begins. “Mueller has been trusted by Republicans to put America first.”
Listen to the full ad below, and be prepared to feel physically nauseous:
Stunningly disgusting, right?
Dovetailing back to Woods’ tweets, the replies he received were very insightful:
There is only one person bearing the Republican label who fights; Donald Trump.

AMEN! That's part of why he got elected

Absolutely right. That's why I voted for him. He'll say it like it is and pull no punches. Like calling those countries shit-hole countries!

Also the left don't just believe Trump is racist, they need to believe that Trump is racist and that's different. So when I was on deployment I saw it all. Also I believe he was saying the democrats were given extra attention to countries that would come here to get a free lunch!

“Crispus Deplorable” made a great point: Democrats and their liberal media allies routinely misrepresent the president’s words to portray him and his supporters as racists and bigots. Yet Republicans never seem to challenge these false claims, instead choosing to let Trump fight his own battles.
The good news is that the president doesn’t even need these spineless cowards’ help, because he’s not a coward!
