Harvard University offers graduate students the chance to earn a “Social Justice Certificate” for around $10,800, according to a Monday report.
The Ivy League school speculates that students will need 1.5 years to complete 16 credit hours for the certificate, reported Campus Reform.
Interested students can take courses such as “Readings in Black Radicalism,” which discusses Marxism, reparations, and black feminism, “The Culture of Capitalism,”which features readings by Karl Marx and demand-side economist John Maynard Keynes, and “Chocolate, Culture, and the Politics of Food,” which analyzes “cultural constructions surrounding chocolate,” to meet the certificate requirements.
A Harvard page describing the certificate lists “key learning outcomes” such as “build knowledge of classical and contemporary theories of justice and explore interrelated topics, such as human rights, affirmative action, income distribution, and the role of markets.”
The Ivy League school does not mandate GRE scores or any other sort of metric to admit applicants, but instead tells students who would like to earn the degree to “simply register” for relevant courses.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to Harvard for comment but received none in time for press.
