A hazmat team is on its way to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Washington, D.C., headquarters to deal with a “suspicious package” left on the second floor, an agency official confirmed.
“Hazmat team is on its way for a suspicious package on the second floor of headquarters,” the official told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The official did not offer any more details on the package. Axios reporter Jonathan Swan first reported of the suspicious package on Twitter. Swan also noted the second floor was locked down until hazmat officials dealt with the package.

It’s unknown who left the package or why, however, EPA Administrator Scott has face an “unprecedented” number of death threats against him, according to past statements by EPA officials.
“According to EPA’s Assistant Inspector General, Scott Pruitt has faced an unprecedented amount of death threats against him and his family,” EPA spokesman Jahan Wilcox told Fox News in early April.
“Americans should all agree that members of the president’s Cabinet should be kept safe from these violent threats,” Wilcox said.
ABC News recently released an Office of Inspector General report detailing 13 threats Pruitt received from February 2017 to August 2017. The threats ranged in severity, but most stemmed from hateful online messages, emails and mail.
