David Hogg publicly embarrasses himself, again, and it only takes one humiliating emoji to sum it up

Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting survivor David Hogg embarrassed himself again Friday by unknowingly lavishing praise on an organization that seeks to loosen America’s gun control laws.

Hogg specifically praised the American Civil Liberties Union after it posted a “notice” to public schools that they cannot “discipline students more harshly for gun violence walkouts than missing class.”

In response, Hogg wrote, “This is why I’m a proud member of the @ACLU.”

When the ACLU replied by thanking him for his so-called “work,” the 18-year-old gun control zealot responded with a heart emoji:

Hogg has often demonstrated a disturbing ignorance regarding the most basic facts, and this appears to be yet another example of that.

The official website of the ACLU makes it clear that while the organization backs the alleged right of activists like David Hogg to perform school walkouts in favor of gun control, it believes some of America’s gun control laws need to be relaxed.

“The categories of people that federal law currently prohibits from possessing or purchasing a gun are overbroad, not reasonably related to the state’s interest in public safety, and raise significant equal protection and due process concerns,” the website reads.

The ACLU further notes that many of these categories “require no proof of dangerousness” for someone’s Second Amendment rights to be rescinded.

“[T]he list of those barred includes: anyone convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than a year, whether or not the crime has any connection to violence; people with mental disabilities and many noncitizens who have not been shown to be dangerous in any way; and those who have used substances on the federal controlled substance list, including marijuana in states in which it is legal.”

Did Hogg realize that the ACLU feels this way before he tweeted an infantile heart to it? Probably not. Just like he didn’t realize that the phrase “Never again” has ties to the Holocaust remembrance movement when he decided to name his upcoming book “Never Again”:

Instead of running his mouth 24/7 about things he knows very little about, Hogg should seriously consider shutting up for a change and spending some quiet time to himself reading and learning.

Besides learning about the Holocaust, he ought to also invest some time in soaking up as much knowledge as possible about America’s own history. Not only would this knowledge help the teen embarrass himself less, but it’d also let him finally understand why so many Americans, including those at his beloved ACLU, are so defensive of their Second Amendment rights.
