Legal red flags emerge in Comey’s memoir; Trump blasts ‘leaker & liar … should be prosecuted!’

Once again… “they never thought she’d lose.”

In his forthcoming book, “A Higher Loyalty,” Comey dishes on his interactions with President Trump, even though there are a number of open investigations that could require him as a witness, to include special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe and the Department of Justice inspector general’s investigation.

But it seems the celebrity-seeking former FBI director was more concerned with making Hillary Clinton look bad than he was with adhering to the rules — this is the same person who admitted to Congress that he leaked personal notes of a meeting with Trump to the media.

The following passage from the book is raising a lot of eyebrows. Comey admits he was very concerned about making Hillary Clinton look like an “illegitimate president.”

CNN law enforcement analyst James A. Gagliano, a retired FBI supervisory special agent, took to Twitter to denounce former FBI director James Comey’s “foolhardy & vainglorious” book tour.

A denunciation that included a daunting reminder of the FBI’s policy on “prohibited disclosures.”

While Watchdog group Judicial Watch quickly filed a lawuit for the documents Comey used in his shady memoir, President Trump was quick to remind the nation Friday morning what he thinks, calling Comey “a proven LEAKER & LIAR,” adding that he “should be prosecuted.”

OH, and Trump added that it was “my great honor” to fire the “untruthful slime ball.”

Comey apologized in his book for how Clinton felt about him reopening the probe of her use of a private email server 11 days before the 2016 election, saying he wished he could have done a “better job” making the candidate understand.

He was certain that Clinton would win the presidency when he made the decision, Comey writes — many, to include the Democratic presidential nominee, believe that act helped tip the election to Trump.

“I have read she has felt anger toward me personally, and I’m sorry for that,” Comey writes, according to ABC News. “I’m sorry that I couldn’t do a better job explaining to her and her supporters why I made the decisions I made.”

For those who “ignorantly” claim Comey is no longer employed by the FBI, Gagliano shared the bureau’s definition of “employee.”

“For those who continue to ignorantly claim that James Comey is not subject to FBI prepublication review mandates, b/c he is no longer an ’employee,’ well … Here is the definition of ’employee’ on page 2 of the Prepublication Review Manual,” he tweeted.

And to be clear, Gagliano is no fan of Comey’s book, as seen in a response to a social media user.

“I’m critical of his actions. I’m an agnostic on the man, personally. I don’t know him. But I served in the FBI a lot longer than he did. I think he is probably a decent person who made some dubious criticism-worthy leadership decisions. Book tour is also foolhardy & vainglorious,” he tweeted.
