One Republican lawmaker may have just taken home the prize for the year’s best trolling.
Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN) took a swipe at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) with new legislation that would make bonuses to employees tax-free up to $2,500. Dubbed the CRUMBS Act, the bill alludes to Pelosi’s comment calling post-tax reform employee bonuses “crumbs.”

The bill Rokita is set to unveil is titled the “Creating Relief and Useful Middle-Class Benefits and Savings” — or “CRUMBS” Act, Fox News reports.
Rokita explained the legislation in a statement:
“Americans are receiving thousands of dollars in bonuses and more money in their paychecks thanks to President Trump’s tax reform, but out-of-touch Democratic leaders believe they only amount to crumbs.
“The CRUMBS Act will let Americans keep more of the money they receive as a result of President Trump’s tax reform, and allow them, not the government, to choose how best to spend their bonuses.”

The proposed bill would apply to bonuses received by workers in 2018 up to $2,500.
According to a list by Americans for Tax Reform, 346 American companies have given workers bonuses, raises, or increased 401 (k) contributions.
Included on the list is AT&T, which gave 200,000 employees a $1,000 bonus, along with Fiat Chrysler, which awarded bonuses of up to $2,000 to 60,000 workers.

“In terms of the bonus that corporate America receives versus the crumbs they are giving to workers to put the schmooze on is so pathetic,” Pelosi said last month.
The California Democrat is among the 15 wealthiest members of Congress, with a net worth of $29.35 million, according to Roll Call.

For an elitist like Pelosi, $1,000 is nothing more than “crumbs.” For working class America, it’s a God-send.
This is utterly brilliant on Republicans’ part!

“Thousands of dollars given back to millions of US taxpayers is not crumbs. Nancy Pelosi, you really do need to quit using that hair dye with the lead additive.”

Well done, @ToddRokita
Good for the economy, good for American citizens, and a poke at the Dims:

Hey idea here, if Pelosi says it’s crumbs, why doesn’t she volunteer to pay the tax on the crumbs for the American people that got them?

Maybe crumbs for some, but real money for most of us!
