Liberals and logic are like oil and water.
Advocacy groups supportive of illegal immigrants have filed a lawsuit against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for allegedly targeting illegal alien activists for deportation.

The suit, filed in federal court on Friday, accused ICE of unconstitutionally attempting to suppress political dissent, The Intercept reports.
ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Justice were all named as defendants.
“Defendants have investigated, surveilled, harassed, raided, arrested, detained, and even deported these activists in order to silence them,” the complaint asserted.
“This sharp spike in immigration enforcement specifically targeting the most vocal immigration activists is intended to stifle dissent.”

The organizations that filed the lawsuit are the New Sanctuary Coalition of New York City, the Detention Watch Network, Casa de Maryland, the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, and the New York Immigration Coalition.
The groups alleged the defendants’ enforcement of federal immigration law “violates the First Amendment.”
“The Government’s targeting of activists on the basis of their core political speech is unfair, discriminatory, and un-American,” the lawsuit read.
The move followed an Intercept report describing the New Sanctuary Coalition of New York City’s fears of surveillance after two of its leaders were detained. One was ultimately deported to Haiti.

The other, Ravi Ragbir, had his deportation stayed pending ongoing legal proceedings.
“Like so many people who are living in this country under the threat of deportation, I know how important it is to raise our voices against the injustices in the system,” Ragbir said in a statement.
The lawsuit came as ICE has ramped up its efforts to detain and deport illegal aliens, spurred by support from the Trump administration.
ICE acting director Homan has said agents are now free to work with “handcuffs off” under President Trump.
Immigration enforcement has met opposition from Democrat-controlled jurisdictions. A law that went into effect in California in January officially made it a “Sanctuary State,” meaning local law enforcement is barred from assisting federal immigration authorities.
Homan has suggested holding politicians of sanctuary jurisdictions “personally responsible” for crimes committed by illegal aliens.

“We’ve got to start charging some of these politicians with crimes,” the ICE chief told Fox Business’ Neil Cavuto last month.
On Twitter, illegal alien activists suing ICE were mocked for placing themselves in the public spotlight despite knowing they’re subject to deportation.
It’s called “aiding and abetting criminal activity” which is in itself a crime…so good for ICE for maintaining Law & Order. Keep up the good work!

If you’re here illegally, you’re not “a political opponent”, you’re a criminal in the eyes of the law. Dems need those votes. #smh #Rigged

Activists always claim they don’t care who knows they’re here illegally when they’re demanding yet more privileges. Actions have consequences. #RuleOfLaw #DACADreamers

Well, when you are an Illegal activist and you put it out there that you’re actively illegal, you tend to get the laws enforced on you… ????
