Carter Page praised congressional investigators for their work in exposing the ethically dubious process the FBI pursued to secure a warrant to surveil him during his time as an advisor on the Trump campaign.

The highly anticipated memo accuses senior FBI and Department of Justice officials of concealing essential information from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) when seek authorization to surveil Page.
The officials neglected to inform the FISC that the Steele dossier, which amounts to an uncorroborated and salacious opposition research on the candidate Donald Trump) was paid for by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Clinton campaign.
“The brave and assiduous oversight by congressional leaders in discovering this unprecedented abuse of process represents a giant, historic leap in the repair of America’s democracy,” Page said in a statement. “Now that a few of the misdeeds against the Trump Movement have been partially revealed, I look forward to updating my pending legal action against DOJ this weekend in preparation for Monday’s next small step on the long, potholed road toward helping restore law and order in our great country.”

Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, GOP Rep. Devin Nunes, played an integral role in developing the memo and fighting for its release against the counsel of FBI officials, who said just days before the memo’s release that they had “grave concerns” it would compromise intelligence methods and sources.
Page came to the attention of the FBI for his Russian contacts and business dealings. The Trump campaign has sought to distance themselves from Page, who himself is pursuing legal action against the Justice Department for what he believes to have been unconstitutional surveillance.
