Donald Trump trolled Democrats by declaring, ‘We proudly stand for national anthem.’ Watch their reaction

President Trump is THE absolute best at trolling Democrats, but arguably his best work yet occurred during Tuesday night’s State of the Union, an epic troll that masterfully exposed the “take-a-knee” crowd and their Democratic supporters as the unpatriotic hypocrites they are.

Here’s how it went down.

His speechwriters were smart, ingenious even. By inserting so many concepts into his State of the Union speech that, well, any normal American with a modicum of a heart would support – things like God, country, our flag, low taxes, a good economy, rising wages and, you know, standing and showing respect for the national anthem, it would be super awkward for even Trump-hating Dems to not applaud at least once in a while… unless they wanted to look like total asshats.

OK, asshats it is…

Here’s the part that really showed the Democrats’ true colors…

“Tonight, I want to talk about what kind of future we are going to have, and what kind of a nation we are going to be,” Trump said. “All of us, together, as one team, one people, and one American family, can do anything. We all share the same home, the same heart, the same destiny, and the same great American flag.

“Together, we are rediscovering the American way. In America, we know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of American life. The motto is, in God we trust. And we celebrate our beliefs, — our police, our military, and veterans as heroes who deserve our total and unwavering support.”

Pause for a second. In fairness, we’ve got to give Nancy Pelosi half-credit on this one. Sure, she didn’t stand, but at least she gave a smirk and a half-hearted clap for God…

Or was it vets, police, and the military? Either way, her base ain’t gonna be happy!

Not sure that’ll make much of a difference where you’re going, Nancy, but hey, it can’t hurt!

“Here tonight is Preston sharp, a 12-year-old boy from Redding, California, who noticed veterans’ graves were not decorated with flags on veterans day,” Trump continued. “He decided, all by himself, to change that and has started a movement which has now placed 40,000 flags at the graves of our great heroes. Preston, a job well done.

Everyone seemed to applaud this one, as they should have, but Trump was just setting the hook.

“Young patriots like Preston teach all of us about our civic duty as Americans. I met Preston a little while ago and he is something very special, that I can tell you. Great future. Thank you, Preston. Thank you, very much. Preston’s reverence for those who have served our nation remind us why we salute our flag, why we put our hands on our hearts for the pledge of allegiance, and why we proudly stand for the national anthem.”

Reel ’em in, Trump. Reel ’em in.

Watch the audience reaction. Loud cheers from one side of the aisle, and crickets from the other.

Crickets, I tell you… because standing for the national anthem is somehow controversial, if you’re a Democrat anyway. And now, if they had any doubt before, the rest of America knows.
