Chuck Todd’s criticism of Donald Trump’s SOTU is making everybody in their right mind do a double take

The mainstream media is still coddling Obama a year after he left office.

NBC’s Chuck Todd took issue with President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, criticizing the president’s use of a teleprompter–but neglecting to mention Barack Obama’s frequent teleprompter usage.

Todd said the speech President Trump delivered was different from the “conciliatory” one pitched to the press before the event.

“If that was an attempt at unity, he has a lot of work to do,” Todd asserted. “While I think the beginning of the speech did a good job of at least saying those words, when you look at how he led with immigration, he led in a very divisive way on immigration.”

The “Meet the Press” moderator argued the president’s “reading off a teleprompter” was disingenuous.

“And honestly, I just don’t — you know, I go through these things, especially these teleprompter speeches he gives. It’s not him. So it’s hard to judge these speeches because we know it’s not him. It’s him reading off a teleprompter. There are some things he says that sound like him: ‘totally,’ ‘you know.’

“He’ll throw in a ‘beautiful’ and extra ‘totally.’ But you can tell he is reading it. He doesn’t own it. They’re better off — I think they would be better off letting him ad lib because it would be authentic. There is a missing authenticity.”

Liberal outlets and echoed Todd’s critique of President Trump’s teleprompter usage.

The Huffington Post dubbed the president “Teleprompter Trump.”

A Seattle Times opinion piece repeated the nickname.

As did Time magazine.

The Philadelphia Inquirer also mentioned President Trump’s teleprompter.

Modern presidents prior to President Trump have used teleprompters to deliver major speeches. Barack Obama’s teleprompter use–and tendency to say “uhh” when going off-script–was a hallmark of his presidency.

Satire website The Onion even poked fun at Obama with a parody report in which the former head of state is unable to communicate with his family at home when his teleprompter stops working.

CNN polled the audience on Trump’s State of the Union and soon came to regret it

As expected, liberals are conveniently forgetful about Democrats’ deficiencies.
