SCOTTeVest boasts that the company markets to Fox News viewers because they’re ‘f-ing idiots’

SCOTTeVEST was forced to disavow their own founder, Scott Jordan, after a since deleted Facebook post last weekend called Fox News viewers “f-ing idiots.”

According to a Washington Times report, Jordan, who is no longer a part of SCOTTeVEST management but is still CEO, used Facebook to describe an interaction with an individual who recognized him from his commercials on the network.

“I love meeting new people that recognize me and my company from all of our television commercials,” Jordan wrote on January 14 in a post that has since been deleted but was captured via screenshot, according to the Times. “I am on the ski lift and the following exchange just happened and happens often: I ask, ‘What network they saw me?’ Invariably people say Fox News.

“I laugh to myself, and tell them that we primarily advertise on Fox because we find their viewership to be extremely gullible and much easier to sell than other networks,” Jordan continued. “The look on their face at that time is priceless. I am not kidding you. I get to tell them they are [f–ing] idiots while getting rich off them.”

SCOTTeVEST, which sells “eVests” with multiple-pockets designed for different gadgets, was co-founded by Jordan and his wife in 2000. Famously, he appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2012 but didn’t clinch a deal.

Predictably, his company has condemned Jordan’s Fox News viewer insult as “offensive and inexcusable,” because calling one’s potential customers “f-ing idiots” probably isn’t the best advertising strategy.

“We are extremely sorry for his unacceptable comments,” said the company, according to the Times. “Mr. Jordan’s post was impulsive and inappropriate for too many reasons to list, and rightfully offended so many people. We strongly disagree with the views expressed by Mr. Jordan.”

In an email to The Blaze, spokesman Luke Lappala said Jordan has deactivated both his Twitter and Facebook accounts.

“We are sickened by his remarks,” said Lappala.

Jordan himself has also apologized via a Medium post, saying his choice of words to describe Fox News viewers was “incredibly rude and inaccurate.”

“To those that I called gullible and idiotic, I am truly sorry,” wrote the SCOTTeVEST founder. “As the founder of SCOTTeVEST, Inc., I have spent more than 17 years with the help of an amazing team building an awesome company with world class products and customer service. My idiotic statement not only jeopardized all of that hard work, but it also compromised the faith that SCOTTeVEST customers and our team of 20+ employees and contractors entrusted in me.

Jordan also added an apology to employees of the company hurt by his comments: “SCOTTeVEST employees are good people that do not deserve to be punished for my actions. I will continue to learn from my mistakes and strive to become a better person.”

“Mr. Jordan retains his CEO and Co-Founder titles, but he is not involved in our daily operations,” Lappala told The Blaze.
