Two of the media’s most moderate Republicans are at each others’ throats–and it’s a sight to behold.
Monday’s episode of ABC’s the “The View” saw co-host Meghan McCain take on CNN analyst Ana Navarro over the issue of who was to blame for the three-day government shutdown–and things got heated fast.
McCain disagreed with the rest of the panel, who placed responsibility for the shutdown squarely on President Trump and Senate Republicans.
“It is not intellectually honest to sit here and say this is completely Trump’s fault,” McCain said, accusing Democrats of playing partisan politics by voting against a spending bill over DACA when the Senate has until March 5 to reach a deal on the Obama-era immigration program.
Navarro, a Republican strategist who has been a vehement critic of President Trump, took issue with McCain’s excoriation of Democrats, prompting the “View” co-host to fire back.

“I understand that DACA is a very emotional issue at this point, but most Republicans are on my side on this one, Ana, and it’s really difficult for me to understand sometimes why you still consider yourself a Republican,” McCain said.
“Because I’m a Hispanic immigrant Latina,” Navarro responded to enthusiastic applause from the program’s live studio audience.

The CNN regular asserted that as an immigrant, she identified with illegal aliens covered under DACA, even though she and her family entered the country legally.
“I came here through no decision of my own. … Had my parents not had visas, had my parents not had the resources to hire lawyers, I would be a DREAM Act kid, too. That’s why this is personal.”
On Monday, Congress passed a short-term spending bill after a deal was reached under which Democrats would support the measure in exchange for an immigration bill being brought to the Senate floor soon.
Navarro, an avowed Republican, has largely sided with Democrats on the shutdown issue.
There is no logical reason on the merits, for McConnell to object to guaranteeing military pay and death benefits during shutdown, except wanting to use the brave men and women in our Armed Forces as pawns in this political chess game. Unconscionable. https://t.co/KMwGczKneg

Spare me the hypocrisy this early in the morning. McConnell shut-down services and security for our Armed Forces and families of the fallen, when @clairecmc offered it. https://t.co/BezOGgzoaE

Trump bestows a savage new nickname on CNN’s Jim Acosta after Dems cave on shutdown
If President Trump has accomplished anything, it’s been getting the RINOS in government and the media to expose themselves.
