White House Chief of Staff John Kelly doesn’t plan on leaving the White House any time soon.

The chief of staff said he plans on staying in his job “for the long haul” during a Wednesday night interview with Fox News Host Bret Baier.

“I am,” Kelly said. “Not only is this the toughest job I’ve ever had, and I’ve done a lot of things in my life, this is the most important thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’ve got no reason to be doing this other than my sense of service to the country. That’s my number one motivation, always has been for my whole life.”

Kelly also stressed how important this job is, saying if the administration fails, then the people will suffer.

“If the president is un-informed one time and makes the wrong decision, that’s on me. Those decisions at his level are so critical that people’s lives obviously depend on it,” Kelly said. “So, I’m in it for the long haul.”
