With recent reports exposing just how much the FBI under fired director James Comey’s tutelage reeked of questionable actions, Comey took to Twitter to tweet a sanctimonious remark about people “standing up for what they believe.”

But Fox News’ Ed Henry was quick to prove that Comey picked a really bad time to raise his head.
Comey included a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. in the tweet believed to be a reference to reports that FBI Director Christopher Wray threatened to resign after being pressured to fire deputy director Andrew McCabe.
“Good to read reports of people standing up for what they believe in. ‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy’ — MLK,” he tweeted.

Comey’s post comes amid reports the FBI “failed to preserve” thousands of text messages exchanged between anti-Trump bureau officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who were members of Robert Mueller’s team.

All of which prompted a very simple, albeit damning question from Henry: “Any thoughts on #MissingTexts?”

And Henry wasn’t finished, as he referenced the dates of the lost texts, which happens to coincide with Comey’s time at the FBI.
“Any idea who was FBI Director from Dec 2016 till May 2017 anything?” he asked in a second tweet.

Henry was praised far and wide on social media for “the hard troll” — here’s a sampling of the responses from Twitter:

This is about the text messages exposing your former subordinates as partisan frauds, right? Did you ok the deletion, in the name of "standing up for what they believe in"? https://t.co/pQh5m5bl5F

My guess would be….Comey never thought any of this would come out. https://t.co/P5osutJTii

Hey, @jamescomey, when you get sober or fall off your high horse, can you see if you can turn up any of those missing texts your agency was supposed to keep track of? Thanks. https://t.co/JmH9guKUwY
