President Donald Trump laid any failure to address the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program squarely on the doorstep of the Democratic Party.
Taking to social media Sunday morning, the president said DACA is “probably dead.”
“DACA is probably dead because the Democrats don’t really want it,” he tweeted, “they just want to talk and take desperately needed money away from our Military.”

Trump announced in September he was ending DACA, giving Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix.
With the March deadline approaching, there’s been no solution in sight, although the president has insisted that a border wall “must be part of any DACA approval.”
It was at a bipartisan Oval Office meeting on DACA Thursday that Trump questioned accepting immigrants from “sh*thole countries.”
Trump also reiterated his call for a merit based immigration system Sunday.
“I, as President, want people coming into our Country who are going to help us become strong and great again, people coming in through a system based on MERIT. No more Lotteries! #AMERICA FIRST,” he tweeted.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced on Saturday that it will begin taking new DACA applications in response to a federal judge in San Francisco ordered a preliminary injunction against Trump’s efforts to end the program, The Hill reported.
U.S. District Judge William Alsup’s ruling is only temporary, leaving Congress to find a long-term answer for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.
