“Saturday Night Live” was all over President Donald Trump calling some third world countries a “sh*thole” in a cold open centered around a parody of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” but comedian Bill Murray stole the show with a surprise portrayal of former Trump aide Steve Bannon.
The show had long been portraying Bannon as the Grim Reaper and Murray debuted his Bannon character as the face under the ghoulish shroud.
“I always thought you looked like death, but this is death warmed over,” quipped Kate McKinnon’s Mika Brzezinski.
The mock Morning Joe show featured “Fire and Fury” author Wolff, played by Fred Armisen, and Murray’s Bannon as special guests.
The men get into an exchange over what Bannon actually said about Donald Trump Jr. before coming to agreement that it does “sound like” something he said.
“The Bannon magic is still out there,” Murray’s character proclaimed. “Steve Bannon, the Bannon Cannon. Magic. Magic. The king maker! The Bannon dynasty is dawning.”
An unimpressed Mika asked the faux Bannon what he was up to now that he has been canned from Breitbart News.
“I’m working on a web series for Crackle. It’s called ‘Cucks In Cars Getting Coffee,'” he said. “I’m also coming out with a new line of wrinkled barn jackets.”
Murray nailed the line.
