Stephen Paddockâs girlfriend admitted her fingerprints were likely on the Las Vegas shooter’s ammunition, but investigators found no “criminal involvement.”
According to court documents unsealed on Friday, Marilou Danley, who was in the Philippines in October when Paddock killed 58 people and wounded more than 500 others after opening fire on a crowd of concertgoers from a hotel room, told authorities she sometimes helped him in loading bullets into magazines, Fox News reported.
The documents were dated October 3, two days after the shooting, and while there was no evidence at that time of “criminal involvement,” investigators had not ruled out the possibility, according to Fox News.
The documents also revealed that Paddock, who fatally shot himself after firing on the crowd, may have had email conversations with himself about purchasing rifles and bump stocks in the months leading up to the massacre.

The documents said Paddock had received an email from a Gmail account in July encouraging him to try an AR-style rifle before buying one. “We have huge selection” in the Las Vegas area, the email allegedly noted.
Paddock wrote back that he wanted to try several scopes and different types of ammunition. An email in response suggested trying a bump stock on the rifle with a 100-round magazine.
Paddock’s email address and a Gmail address he was corresponding with had similar names, but investigators are perplexed as to why he may have been emailing himself.
The motive for the shooting is still a mystery, but authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
