Fusion GPS just gave the liberal conspiracy theorists a treasure trove of material to work with.
A lawyer for the opposition research firm behind the infamous Steele dossier told a Senate committee last year that the dossier’s publication led to the death of one person.

Fusion GPS lawyer Josh Levy’s comment was seen in a transcript of an Aug. 22 Senate Judiciary Committee interview with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson. The transcript was released on Tuesday by Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA).
According to the documents, Levy told Jason Foster, an investigator for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), that he advised Simpson to avoid naming his sources because one person had already been killed over the research.

“It’s a voluntary interview, and in addition to that he wants to be very careful to protect his sources,” Levy said. “Somebody’s already been killed as a result of the publication of this dossier and no harm should come to anybody related to this honest work.”
The Fusion GPS lawyer did not give further explanation or reveal the identity of the allegedly murdered individual.
Several outlets, including the Huffington Post, have theorized that ex-KGB chief Oleg Erovkinin was killed due to being a source for the dossier.
Erovkinin was a chief of staff for Putin ally Igor Sechin, who was named in the dossier as having communicated directly with Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
The Huffington Post speculated:
“The revelations of Putin’s retaliation against his inner circle are a key sign in the ongoing war of spies between Russia and the United States, which might indirectly validate the contents of the ‘Golden Showers’ dossier, and could give further clues to the true nature and depth of Donald Trump’s extensive ties to the Russian regime.”
Erovkinin was found dead in his car on December 26, 2016. The dossier was published by BuzzFeed News on Jan. 10, 2017, which counters the belief that the Russian intelligence officer was killed in retaliation for the document’s publication.
Logic and facts don’t get in the way of liberals who jump to spin conspiracy narratives.
His death is ultimately because of Trump’s actions. The publication of this dossier only precipitated it.
He would still be alive today if Trump were not a Russian mob boss.
