With the liberal media whining about how unfair it is, Sen. Al Franken is expected to resign his seat Tuesday in response to a string of complaints of sexual misconduct.
The Democrat lawmaker’s exit will set the stage for Minnesota Lt. Gov. Tina Smith to be sworn in Wednesday morning, having been tapped by Gov. Mark Dayton to replace Franken.

Smith plans to run for the seat in a November special election, but the Democrat may face a real challenge from a Republican politician who’s no stranger to political mud-fests.
Michele Bachmann, the former congresswoman and 2012 presidential candidate, told televangelist Jim Bakker last week that she’s considering a run for Franken‘s vacated Senate seat.

Bachmann told Bakker she “had people contact me and urge me to run for that Senate seat” and said she’s looking to God for direction, which immediately prompted liberals to ridicule her for her faith.
“I feel like I was wildly successful … I didn’t win, but I moved the debate,” Bachmann said of her 2012 presidential run.
“So I didn’t shed a tear when I left the contest because I felt like I fulfilled the calling that God gave me,” she added. “So the question is, am I being called to do this now? I don’t know.”
The politician, a tea party favorite, is known for her staunch conservative views and for her deep religious convictions and knows to expect the “Roy Moore treatment” if she runs.
“There’s a price you pay and the price is bigger than ever because the swamp is so toxic,” Bachmann said.
She pointed out that she’s not a billionaire and limited in being able to defend herself.
“It is really tough,” Bachmann added. “If you are going against the tide in Washington D.C., if you’re trying to stand for biblical principals in D.C., you stick your head up out of the hole […] the blades come whirling and they try to chop you off.”
Truer words have never been spoken.
In the end, Bachmann said of a potential Senate run that she will put her trust in God.
