If President Trump “broke” Kathy Griffin, Fox News’ Kennedy smashed what was left to pieces.
The conservative commentator treated viewers of the network’s New Year’s Eve coverage to a humorous impersonation of Griffin, mocking the comedian for being fired from CNN’s New Year’s Eve program.
Kennedy imitated Griffin’s speech and poked fun at her relationship with former New Year’s Eve co-host Anderson Cooper, with whom Griffin has been embattled since her dismissal from CNN.
Jesse Watters asked the Griffin impersonator why she was at New York’s Time Square despite no longer having a role in CNN’s coverage.
“I’m a fixture in Time Square,” Kennedy said, before introducing a “comedy special” Griffin has supposedly been working on since being unemployed.
“Why did the chicken cross the road?” she asked. “Because Anderson Cooper kicked it off the New Year’s Eve show.”
Kennedy followed it up with a knock-knock joke.
“Kennedy: Knock knock.
“Watters: Who’s there?
“Kennedy: Anderson Cooper?
“Watters: Anderson Cooper who?
“Kennedy: Exactly, you’re dead to me.”
The Griffin impersonator asked, “Why does a golfer wear two pairs of pants? In case Anderson Cooper gets a hole-in-one.”
Two-time presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was also included in Kennedy’s comedy routine:
“Hillary couldn’t be here tonight. She already dropped the ball once this year!”
CNN dropped Griffin from its annual New Year’s Eve program after the comedian shared a graphic picture of herself holding a bloody fake head resembling President Trump.
The celebrity has repeatedly blamed the backlash from the scandal, as well as “bullying” from the Trump family as contributing to her inability to find work.
Recently, Griffin claimed she can’t perform comedy tours in the U.S. out of fear of being shot.
The professional woes may be no laughing matter for Griffin, but Twitter users had no qualms about enjoying Fox News’ trolling.
