President Trump terminated the rest of the remaining members of the federal advisory council on HIV/Aids last Thursday. The 16 members each received a letter via FedEx stating that their termination was effective immediately. It reportedly gave no reason as to why they were being fired.
Executive Director Kate Hayes, released a statement on Friday confirming that the administration was ending their appointments.
“Changing the makeup of federal advisory committee members is a common occurrence during administration changes,” she said.
The terminated members were all appointed to their positions by the Obama administration which also terminated the council appointed by its predecessor the Bush administration.

Six council members had already resigned in June over concerns of how the HIV/AIDS epidemic was being handled by the Trump administration.
Scott Schoettes, one of the members who resigned, blasted Trump on Twitter for trying to bring back “abstinence-only” sex education, among other “harmful policies.”
Putin releases New Year’s message to Trump – and the media is losing its ever-loving mind
Remaining #HIV/AIDS council members booted by @realDonaldTrump. No respect for their service. Dangerous that #Trump and Co. (Pence esp.) are eliminating few remaining people willing to push back against harmful policies, like abstinence-only sex ed. #WeObject #PACHA6 #Resist

Gabriel Maldonado, who was among the members dismissed, confirmed.
“I can only speculate, like any administration, they want their own people there. Many of us were Obama appointees. I was an Obama appointee and my term was continuing until 2018,” he stated.
“So much of my advocacy and policy references surrounded vulnerable populations, addressing issuing of diverse communities, specifically looking at the impacts of the LGBT community, namely, the disproportionate impact of HIV and AIDS to people of color, gay men, transgender women and a lot of those key vulnerable populations are not being prioritized in this administration,” he added.
The left took to social media to express their outrage over the firings.
Not even surprised, they want us all to disappear as if there are no gay people. While they continue their criminal sexual acts against women and under aged kids. Yay GOP, Conservative, family values

It’s only right that President Trump has his own people just like Obama did. Get over it. He needs to purge more of the Obama hold-overs that have proven themselves to be too partisan to do the job right.

They are political appointees. That’s was it REALLY is. Obama dumped Bush’s appointees. OBVIOUSLY you thought that was A-OK. Hypocrite much???

Why do we even need more government councils like this. Just wasting our money.
