It’s family feud at Buckingham Palace.
Samantha Grant, the half-sister of Meghan Markle, lashed out at her future brother-in-law on Wednesday for suggesting Britain’s royal family gives the American actress the home life she “never had.”
Prince Harry, who is the fifth-in-line to the throne, made the comment while serving as guest editor for BBC Radio 4‘s “Today” program.
“The family loved having her there.”

Of having his fiancée over for Christmas, Prince Harry said:
“There’s always that family part of Christmas [where] there’s always that work element there as well, and I think together we had an amazing time… [Meghan’s] getting in there and it’s the family I suppose that she’s never had.”
Grant responded to the remark by casting the Markle family in a positive light.

Samantha Markle teased her upcoming “tell all” book about her sister, then continued.
She has a large family. She always did. Our dad is amazing and completely self sacrificing. We made it so that she had two houses. How fun it was!

The older Markle sister described their household as “very normal” and their shared father, Thomas Markle (an Emmy Award-nominated lighting director), as “completely self-sacrificing.”
Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Regland, divorced from Thomas Markle when the “Suits” actress was six years old.
In addition to Samantha Grant, Markle has an older half-brother named Thomas Markle, Jr.
Grant has spoken ill of both her siblings. She told The Sun: “Hollywood has changed [Meghan]. I think her ambition is to become a princess.”
The estranged sister criticized the star’s alleged treatment of her family. “The royal family would be appalled by what she’s done to her own family. The truth would kill her relationship with Prince Harry.”
On other occasions, Grant has disparaged her half-brother Thomas, Jr. (who does not share a mother with either of his sisters), calling him an “alcoholic” and a “lowlife.”
